Remember that one time when the economy was really bad? Oh, wait…

This is that list of most of the businesses I mailed letters to back in February, seeking donations to feed my cast and crew, before I decided to finance that aspect myself. Before SGS called me last month, I only heard from three of them, and they all turned me down.

Business contacted by letter as of Feb. 23:

Mama Mimi’s Take and Bake Pizza
Wendy’s International Inc‎. (sent letter of rejection back to me in my self-addressed stamped envelope)
Chipotle Mexican Grill‎
Starbucks Coffee Co‎.
KFC‎
Aladdin’s Eatery‎
Arby’s
Tim Horton’s headquarters
Cup O’ Joe Coffee
Panera Bread
Jimmy John’s‎
Penn Station
Jersey Mike’s
Subway
Qdoba Mexican Grill
Fresh Market‎
Press Grill Ltd‎.
Jeni’s Ice Creams
McDonald’s Corporation‎
White Castle‎ Headquarters
Noodles and Co.
Happy House
Wal-Mart Supercenter (called me the day after receiving my letter to reject me… at least they were prompt)
Target
Spinelli’s Deli‎
Surly Girl Saloon‎ (YES)
Giant Eagle: Corporate Headquarters
Kroger
Meijer
Donatos Pizza(e-mailed me a rejection, blaming the bad economy and increased requests for donations)
Cowtown Pizza‎

There were also at least three or four “Return to Senders in the batch, and those sure didn’t help my overall costs, either. This is just a reminder of my film’s biggest failure so far. The silver lining? Among these letters were the ones I sent to the three restaurants I had hoped to film at, and the awesome restaurant scene that will appear in my movie as a result totally makes up for the lost dollars in postage wasted on these guys.
